About the Process

We wanted a centralized place to view all EE news. We took over this project from Wide Sky Web and re-worked it into a complex feed aggregator. We first started with how we wanted to display content. We figured a widget type setup was the easiest way to break up the content. Sticking with the main colors of the ExpressionEngine brand, we devised a layout that enabled an easy way to get what you were looking for. Next came the logic behind it. We needed a system that would take the data from other sites and import that into our site. Using XML feeds and an algorithm to filter out EE related articles, EE Hash pulls in information from the community, official community partners, and serves as a resources to many in the community.
